Slating, Tiling and Leadwork
Slating and Tiling
From a slipped slate or broken tile to a complete new roof, Three Counties Flat Roofing can cater for your every need.
We cover all aspects of slate and tile roofs including new roofs, renovating roofs, roof repairs and lead work.
We use any kind of slate or tile that is available (new slates and tiles as well as reclaimed).
When we re-roof we only use breathable felt and tanilised treated batons (resin based protective coating, stops rotting).
Lead Work
Lead work involves many types of different lead, they are graded into different thicknesses by “codes” the lower the code the thinner the lead. Depending on what job the lead is serving, determines the code of lead that is used.
A few examples of different locations/jobs lead is used for:
- Code three is used for soakers
- Code four for flashings around Chimneys, Step Flashing and Valleys
- Code five would be used on bigger projects such as lead roofs, Dormer Cladding and large Gulley’s.
Also all lead is coated with two coats of Patination Oil. This provides a protective coating against “carbonate formation” on the surface of the lead which can discolour/stain surrounding brickwork or slating and tiling. The oil also removes light staining to produce a metallic surface.
We are fully licensed Cherry Picker operators, allowing us easy access to unusual and awkward spaces.
